426 exhibitors with 82 foreign companies from 28 countries: those were the numbers at Carrara Marmotec 2007, the international marble and technology trade fair held at Carrara Fiere from May 30th to the 2nd of June.
The Vice president of the Tuscan region Gelli cut the ribbon together with the President and Director of Carrara Fiere, Giancarlo Tonini and Paris Mazzanti, the Mayor of Carrara Giulio Cónti and the newly elected Angelo Zubbani.
They spent a lot of time visiting the tradefair stopping at the numerous stands where the best in technology and innovation offered by this sector at a worldwide level was shown.
Over the years the Carrara exhibition has become an increasingly important and indispensable event for the economy of the region generating an annual revenue of approximately 70 million Euros. The secret that makes Carrara Marmotec thrive is that it provides stone workers from all over the world with the opportunity to meet each other and get to know a region which is the cradle of activities related to marble.
Marble entrepreneurs are responding enthusiastically to the calls from the market and seek to capitalize on the advertising and growth opportunities offered by initiatives like the Carrara trade fair Officine Marchetti S.p.a. is a long established presence. Led by Cesare Marchetti, the company presented the new AXCO contouring machine at the Carrara Marmotec.
AXCO represents the top of the field in numerical control machines developed by Officine Marchetti over a period of 10 years. AXCO is a contouring milling machine with 5 interoperable axis with generous work strokes which can either assemble a disc or a diamond utensil with iso 40 or iso 50 cone attachments on the same spindle. The machine can be used for all cutting, profiling work and with marble, granite and stone contouring. The 5 interoperable axis allow the machine to take on ever more complex sculptural work allowing the operators to give free reign to their creative artistry.
Once again the Officine Marchetti has invested, as is its habit, in quality and innovation. Over the next couple of weeks the film of the new AXCO during its working phases will be available online.
